The Nature Series

The Nature Series’ is a collection of wax paintings by Biripi artist / beekeeper Michael Scarrott, that featured on the creative platform Kickstarter over NAIDOC week 2018.

Showcasing the beauty and wonder of the Australian landscape, the series explores human interconnectedness with nature. The works were inspired by Michael’s experiences in nature, following the passing of his Grandmother, Biripi Elder, Jessie Elizabeth Scarrott. The series was released on 12th July 2018, on her 98th birthday anniversary, as part of the NAIDOC week "Because of her we can" celebrations.

The Kickstarter successfully raised funds to digitise the works and enable the professional production of limited edition prints up to an enlarged wall mural size (50x70 inches).

In 2020 the series was previewed at the Gloucester Regional Art Gallery as a part of an Indigenous community exhibition and to coincide with Jessie Elizabeth Scarrott's 100th birthday centenary.

The limited edition release is now available in Chromaluxe  submlimated metal produced by leading metal print production house Print2Metal.

The panels are made with recycled material and are 100% recyclable.

ChromaLuxe is a state-of-the-art coating that allows for images to be infused directly into the metal panel.

Print2Metal's incredible printing technology infuses archival inks into the Chromaluxe metal substrate and makes the imagery stand out with brilliant luminescence and vibrant depth of colour. This means the fine artwork can be displayed virtually anywhere with more vibrancy, more clarity and a longer life than any other print medium.
